DiaMonTech's Non-Invasive Glucose Monitoring Shows Promising Clinical Results
BERLIN, 5th of July 2024
The renowned Institute for Diabetes Technology in Ulm conducted a clinical trial on DiaMonTech AG's non-invasive blood glucose measurement technology. This method uses an infrared laser to stimulate glucose molecules in the skin, detecting them through a patented thermal measurement process. Unlike traditional methods that require blood samples or minimally invasive techniques like CGM, this new method is painless, safe, and doesn't need consumables.
The clinical trial involved 36 participants aged 20 to 75, including individuals with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes as well as subjects without diabetes. Over several days, their glucose levels were measured using DiaMonTech's technology and a comparison method.
Accuracy measured in terms of MARD (Mean Absolute Relative Difference) for the non-invasive method reached a level comparable to early-stage continuous glucose monitors across multiple test days— a first for non-invasive devices [SP1].
[SP1]Pfützner2018 (doi: 10.1177/1932296818758769) showed NI-MARD of 14.4% for CnogaTensorTip.
